If recent media reports and security alerts is believed to be true then ISIS is planing a major attack in India. Now the question arises when India is so vulnerable to the recent threat by the biggest terrorist group then what should be India's stand to it!
ISIS is the terror organization whose main aim is to triumph and rule the world, their working principle is based on the thinking of wahabi ideologies. Starting their outfit from Iraq by the minority Sunni group, they have proved to be the biggest threat to the world. India has very strong social fabric and majority of Muslim communities living in India are Sunni. Despite of this Sunni majority, Indian Muslims are unlikely to join the terror kingdom of ISIS. It has been proved by almost negligible penetration of ISIS in the Indian community till now. Although ignoring the threat of ISIS will be a foolish attempt by India. It needs to keep a close vigil on any of the possible upsurge in the community which could bring disharmony in the society. However presently India is not in a position to join a military coalition against ISIS. As it has been seen that ISIS finds their allies in other terror outfits as they did an alliance with the Boko Haram at Nigeria. This states that there may be chances that ISIS could train other groups like Indian Mujahiddin and instigate other terror activities remotely, if they find India to be in a league against them. People support is very crucial to fight against the group like ISIS and fortunately India will have the backing by the Indian citizens in case they choose to do so,but it is also essential to enhance the community awareness, so that the fight against ISIS is not portrayed as the fight against any particular community.
Fight against any terrorist group should not be drawn on a communal line this will be the sole responsibility of the political class of India. Currently India is growing very fast in terms of GDP and thus extra financial burden in fighting against ISIS will bring this GDP rally to a halt.As ISIS is has not been a major force in India so in current scenario it would be difficult for them to steal the nuclear weapon from here and pose a threat to the whole world, but keeping in mind their unprecedented fighting skills India needs to be really on the toes.
UN is giving immense pressure on India to join the anti ISIS coalition and hitherto India is ignoring. one very important point to keep in mind is that world views India as a non aligned country which does not goes well with western nations. Hence any reluctance to join hands against ISIS may be seen as India's cowardice which India should refrain from. The best move for India is to make other nations believe that India has always been a force against wrong doing and has taken part very actively in peacekeeping force, and at a suitable time after strengthening the internal matters it will definitely strike against ISIS.
